Kimberly Birrell has had a remarkable start to 2025, reaching a career-high ranking of world No.75 and currently standing as the highest-ranked Australian woman at No.76. She has won 13 of 16 matches, including quarterfinal appearances at two WTA tournaments, and a title at an ITF75 event in Brisbane.
Birrell’s success has earned her a spot as the first member of Australia’s Billie Jean King Cup team, where she will compete in a home tie against Kazakhstan and Colombia in April. This will be her first time playing a tie on Australian soil, which she describes as “absolutely amazing”.
