Along with renowned cricketers, Shane Warne, Ricky Ponting and Richie Beau, Karen Rolton has been inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame.
An astute cricket brain, powerful forearms, technically brilliant, mentally very strong … Karen Rolton played for Australia for 14 years – from 1995 to 2009.
She captained Australia from 2006-2009.
Batting at the top order, she was a quick-scoring, fluent stroke maker. That ability established her as an outstanding player in both Tests and One Day competition.
She hit the ball hard.
Her batting average was a stunning 55.66 in 14 Test matches; 48.14 in One Day Internationals; and 50.62 in T20 matches for Australia.
Joining the elite cricketers on the world stage such as Ricky Ponting, Richie Benaud, Shane Warne and Sachin Tendulkar, she was Inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame in 2016.
In 2016, Rolton was also inducted into the Australian Cricket Hall of Fame and has a major sporting precinct – the Karen Rolton Oval and function room – in Adelaide named after her.
