The Westminster Old Scholars Club described Mitzy on her 400th game as, “incredibly inspirational” and “your relentless spirit exemplifies true grit.”
“HUGE congrats to Mitzy Galic on reaching 400 games today! From her inaugural year, clinching the first premiership with the Thunderbirds, to relentlessly overcoming challenges of keeping women’s football thriving, your journey has been incredibly inspirational. Your commitment to supporting junior teammates to play their best each week is truly commendable. From unforgettable Tiwi Island state trips to a triumphant return after injury, your relentless spirit exemplifies true grit.”
This is the spirited acknowledgement for Mitzy Galic reaching her 400th senior women’s game from her Westminster Old Scholars club.
It is a remarkable achievement of skill, durability and passion for the game, and assiduously paying attention to rehabilitation when injury strikes.
Mitzy Galic played her 300th game in May 2016 and then her 400th game in July 2025, nine years later.
It is a story of a great love for the game and a desire to be there to support younger players to thrive.
In her own right, however, there is also Mitzy Galic’s outstanding skill.
As an on-baller and driving defender with a penetratingly long kick, she dominated for SA in the national championships.
She was selected in the All-Australian teams in 2000, 2001, 2002 and 2003.
