Australian Sports Foundation
We fund programs designed to increase healthy activity levels and increase participation in sport. Grants are distributed to support projects that improve access to sport for a range of people and communities.
Our focus is on helping kids get active, breaking down the barriers of entry for women and girls, and on bringing more diversity to sport. We work towards an Australia where sport is accessible for all.

Play our way program
The Play Our Way program will provide greater opportunities for women and girls to access, participate and remain involved in sport and physical activity. The Australian Government is providing $200 million for the Play Our Way program. The program will run over 3 years from 2024–25 to 2026–27. The program will provide funding for local solutions and improvements that address participation barriers faced by women and girls. The Power of Her – Infrastructure and Participation Program
The objective of The Power of Her – Infrastructure and Participation Program (IPP) is to build on and deepen the legacy of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup by providing funding for dedicated facilities, improvements to facilities, equipment and programs for girls’ and women’s sport in South Australia. Successful projects will foster and enhance the participation of female athletes in sport by addressing key challenges and barriers to female participation. Applications for 2023-24 have closed but there will be openings for 2024/25 in the future. Can access the guidelines and forms from 2023-24 to understand the requirements for applying.
